The Polaris RZR XP 1000, XP Turbo and XP Turbo-S have two weak points in the frame, just in front of the engine. The rear sway bar is mounted to tabs that are known to crack & break loose from the vertical frame tubes, and the vertical frame tubes themselves are prone to cracking just below the sway bar mounts. This Thunderhawk Performance rear sway bar frame brace is designed to address both of these problem areas, strengthening both the frame and the sway bar mounts.
The rear sway bar mounting tabs on the RZR are thin-gauge steel brackets that are welded to the frame on one side, and are un-supported on the other. Unfortunately, these sway bar mounting tabs often crack & tear near the weld, pulling completely away from the frame. Thunderhawk's exclusive design triangulates the un-supported ends of the factory sway bar mounting tabs directly to brackets on the main frame tubes to eliminate the flex that causes cracking & tearing of the sway bar mounts. Thunderhawk's exclusive design also leaves the sway bar mounting bolts easily accessible for sway bar installation and service.
This Thunderhawk frame brace also functions as a strong gusset plate to stiffen the frame where the vertical frame tubes meet the main frame tubes (below the sway bar mount). This juncture in the RZR XP 1000 / XP Turbo frame is susceptible to flex, as illustrated by the small factory-installed gussets that Polaris has welded into these frames at this location. This is especially true with the four-seat models, where their extra length exaggerates the stress on this weak point making cracked frame tubes very common.
To accomplish these both of these tasks, Thunderhawk chose a frame-end mounting point that is the strongest available. Rather than just using the motor mount bolts, which extends the load out away from the frame, we have chosen to mount these braces right next to the frame tube where the load is transferred directly to the frame tube without inducing excessive flex in the motor mount tab. This frame-end mounting location does require that the installer use a drill to enlarge two existing holes for mounting bolts, but this is a small price to pay for the increased strength.
Thunderhawk Performance designed this Sway Bar Mount Frame Brace Kit to provide maximum strength for the sway bar mounting tabs, to strengthen the RZR's frame in this critical area, to be installed easily without welding and to allow easy access to the sway bar mounting bolts for installation and service. The Thunderhawk Rear Sway Bar Mount Frame Brace Kit installs in about 1 hour (minor drilling is required to enlarge two existing holes for mounting bolts). This is a complete kit including the sway bar braces, all necessary hardware and illustrated instructions. The sway bar braces are powdercoated black and the mounting brackets are zinc-plated. Please Note: Some photos of installed sway bar braces are white for photo clarity, all sway bar braces shipped out are powdercoated black. Fits Polaris RZR XP 1000, XP-4 1000, XP Turbo, XP-4 Turbo, XP Turbo-S & XP-4 Turbo-S including those equipped with most aftermarket replacement rear sway bars (does NOT fit with Holz sway bar). RZR stabilizer bar braces.
Arrived a day early. Installed easily in about 30 minutes. Fit and finish is excellent!

Excellent Instructions -- Easy Installation
These braces are really well made and designed to fit right in. The quality is excellent, the cutouts and bends are formed for a perfect fit at the mating interfaces. The instructions are very well written with pictures to help visualize each step - it's only four bolts per side..... no real challenges. One comment - drilling out the hole is simple; I found that lifting the car and allowing the suspension to extend gave direct/easy access for my drill..... All done! I have not run the RZX on any hard rides (yet) but those braces are well-built and will be great.
