All Thunderhawk receiver hitches are designed for long-term durability, featuring heavy-duty designs and construction. Whether you are moving a trailer, mounting an accessory using a 2" receiver mount or using the hitch for recovery or as a tie-down point, a Thunderhawk hitch will perform. Thunderhawk Performance has designed this hitch to fit the 2015 - 2023 Polaris RZR XP 1000 and RZR XP Turbo models, as well as the 2015 & newer RZR 900, RZR 1000-S and Trail 1000 models. This hitch does NOT fit 2014 RZR XP1000 models or 2024 & newer models. This hitch does NOT fit the RZR XP Turbo-S (72" wide model), as the frame is different on the XP Turbo-S. 2019 -2023 models will require minor trimming of the front bumper cover plastic for clearance around the hitch mounting plate.
In 2015, Polaris changed the the front suspension mount bracket on the front of the RZR frame (where the bumper mounting tabs are located). To provide the necessary strength, Thunderhawk Performance developed a new, multi-piece upper hitch mounting system for the PZ2508 that utilizes a gusseted brace to tie the main hitch plate and the updated front suspension mount bracket back to the main frame rails. This gusseted upper hitch mounting brace (included in the PZ2508 kit) also functions as a bumper brace and strengthens the bumper mounting tabs by tying them directly to the frame to strengthen the bumper mounts and resist bending. The bottom of this front receiver hitch is bolted directly to the frame, behind the front bumper plastic.
This Thunderhawk front 2" receiver hitch features 3/16" & 1/4" steel construction throughout, and is mounted directly to the frame for unsurpassed strength. Thunderhawk receiver hitches also feature an automotive-grade, reinforced receiver tubes for strength, durability and proper fitment with your towing accessories. This front receiver hitch installs easily in about 45 minutes using common hand tools. This is a complete kit; including the receiver hitch assembly, upper mounting braces, all necessary hardware and illustrated instructions. The upper mounting brace included in this kit serves the same function as Thunderhawk's PH7302 bumper brace, which eliminates the need to buy the PH7302 when adding a front bumper. The PZ2508 front receiver hitch features a durable black powdercoat finish and the mounting braces & hardware are zinc-plated to resist rust and stand up to rough off-road use. This front receiver hitch does NOT fit vehicles equipped with a winch, and fits only with some front bumpers (see notes below). The tongue weight rating for this hitch is 125 lbs, and this hitch is NOT designed for snow-plow mounting. As with all Thunderhawk Performance products, these hitches are proudly made in the USA.
This Thunderhawk Performance receiver hitch accepts standard 2" automotive receiver hitch components. 2" receiver hitches are commonly used on most pick-up trucks. Many people already own these hitch bars and components, but these parts are also readily available at any large discount store or auto parts chain.
If installing on a RZR with a front bumper installed, be sure to verify that the bumper tubes are at least 13" apart where the receiver tube will be positioned in order to allow for installation of a common hitch pin (this can be reduced to approx 10" between tubes if using a 3.5" long bolt).
