You don't think about it when you buy your new Mid-Size Ranger. It's new and you pop the hood open, probably check the fluid levels and just admire your new toy. After the first ride, you open the hood again and you find mud EVERYWHERE! If you crossed a creek at more than a snail's-pace, you were probably also surprised by the waterfall from the dashboard (all over your legs). Yep, we've been there too. That's why Thunderhawk Performance invented the front mud guard for Mid-Size Rangers.
Thunderhawk Performance designed these front mud guard kits to address these problems. Thunderhawk mud guards are designed to be concealed under the hood (when closed) for a factory-stock appearance, are formed to provide maximum tire clearance and are contoured to fit closely with the hood, headlight buckets (under hood), inner fender (behind front tire) and the strut mount on the frame. Multiple tabs at the rear-edge of these mud guards cover the opening between the dash-board cross tube and the inner fender where water sprays up from the tire. This design keeps the mud and water out, which makes clean-up much easier. More importantly - the radiator, master cylinder, underhood / dashboard electronics and the engine air inlet are protected.
These Thunderhawk front mud guard sets are precision CNC manufactured in the USA from aircraft aluminum for strength and durability (these parts won't bend easily or rattle, and will not break or crack like plastic). The kit includes two mud guard panels, all necessary installation hardware and illustrated instructions. Installs easily in about 30 minutes. Mud guards for midsize ranger
They installed super easy. I have not had a chance to test them out as of yet but I hope they function as good as they look. One note I’d make is they should have a small hole cut thru that would allow a zip tie to pass thru near frame to hold down any wires that may be running along from such as winch or extra lighting wires or come with a plastic tab that wires can be inserted into using the hole.
